In 1922, Rene Caisse, a Canadian nurse, made a discovery that would dramatically
change her life and the treatment of cancer.
While attending to an older woman who had surgery, Caisse noticed scarring
on the woman's breast and asked her how it came about. The woman explained that
30 years earlier she had developed breast cancer. She had been led to an old
Indian medicine man who told her the cancer could be cured with an herbal remedy.
After a disappointing visit to a doctor, she decided to go back to the Indian
who gave her an herbal formula and instructions on how to brew it. She drank
the herbal mixture daily, and within time the breast tumors gradually diminished.
She never had a recurrence and was 80 years old at the time Caisse met her.
Caisse asked the woman for the formula, saying that: "If I should ever
develop cancer, I would use it." About a year after this, Caisse was visiting
a retired doctor, whom she knew well. They were walking about his garden when
he took his cane and lifted a weed. "Nurse Caisse," he told her, "if
people would use this weed there would be little or no cancer in the world."
It was one of the plants her patient had named as an ingredient in the medicine
man's tea!
Caisse did little with the formula until 1924 when her aunt developed stomach
and liver cancer. The doctors had given her aunt six months to live. She obtained
permission from her aunt's physician to administer the herbal treatment. Caisse's
aunt lived for another 21 years with no recurrence of cancer.
It's been reported that Nurse Caisse experienced a recovery rate of over 80%
with her patients. Today this simple herbal formula has been used by many with
similar stories. Caisse has indeed brought to mankind a unique opportunity,
a second chance to learn the lessons of life and death.
