What You Need to Know About Inflammation
What is inflammation?
Inflammation is an immune response to injury or infection in
which the body's white blood cells and chemicals protect us from infection and
foreign substances (i.e. bacteria and viruses).
What diseases are associated with inflammation?
Arthritis is probably the most commonly known type of
inflammation. Generally arthritis describes inflammation in the joints. Some,
but not all types of arthritis are the result of misdirected inflammation.
Some types of arthritis associated with inflammation are Rheumatoid arthritis,
Shoulder tendonitis or bursitis, Gouty arthritis and Polymyalgia rheumatica.
However, other painful conditions such as fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis,
muscular low back pain and muscular neck pain are NOT associated
with inflammation.
What are symptoms of infammation?
Inflammation is typically characterized by redness, a
swollen joint that's warm to the touch, joint pain, joint stiffness and loss
of joint function. It is common for only a few symptoms to be present.
What causes the symptoms of inflammation?
Symptoms of inflammation such as redness and warmth are
caused when chemicals increase the blood flow to the area of an injury or
infection. These chemicals come from the body's white blood cells and are
released into the blood or affected tissues to protect you from foreign
substances. Some of the chemicals cause a leak of fluid into the tissues
resulting in swelling. This protective process may stimulate nerves and cause
pain.
Why Ibuderm?
Ibuderm is Topical Ibuprofen Cream that contains a
combination of 5% Ibuprofen USP, 2.5% MSM, 2.5%Bromelain, 1.5%
Glucosamine and 1.5% Chrondrotin all in a proprietary liposome
delivery system. These ingredients aid in actual healing, not just
masking pain with numbing and "cooling" agents.
Ingredients Make the Difference
MSM is known to relieve inflammation in tissue
therefore allowing them to heal faster. And because MSM aids in actual
healing, it reduces soreness of the targeted area.
Bromelain is a natural Anti-inflammatory derived from
pineapple and is the number one herb used for treatment of inflammation.
Two other important active ingredients in Ibuderm are the
Glucosamine and Chondrotin. This popular combination works by
stimulating the metabolism of cartilage cells. Once these cartilage cells have
been stimulated, they then produce proteins that will keep the cartilage
health--strong and well lubricated.
Safe Effective
Pain Relief!
Since Ibuderm is a topical cream that is applied to the skin directly on
the target area, it is quickly absorbed by the skin., directly reaching the
targeted area with a fraction of the amount entering into the blood steam.
This is important because organs such as the stomach, liver and digestive
system are bypassed potentially eliminating systemic side effects such as
upset stomach.
Studies have shown that when formulations are delivered topically as
much as 95% reach the targeted cells (e.g. Muscle).
Results from oral forms delievered to a targeted site of pain are
less than 5%. This can be caused by the degradation of the active
ingredients while in the G.I. Tract.
Definitions:
Cartilage ----This is the tough elastic tissue
found in the nose, throat, ear and joints. It is like a cushion at the ends of
bones. The cartilage between joints acts as a shock absorber, protecting the
bones and tissues from the impact created during walking and other bodily
movements.
Tendons ----These are like rubber bands stretched
over joints that keep muscles attached to bones.
Ligaments ----These are the soft tissues that
attach bones to bones. Ligaments are very similar to tendons. The difference
is that tendons attach muscles to bone. Both these structures are made up of
small fibers of a material called collagen. The collagen fibers are bundled
together to form a rope-like structure.
Ligaments and tendons come in many different sizes, and like rope, are
made up on many smaller fibers. The thicker the ligament (or tendon) the
stonger it is, for example the large Achilles tendon is the most important
tendon for walking, running and jumping. Sometimes, tendons and ligaments
slide out of their spot at the joint and then quickly snap back into place.
